Very pleased with Dr Broussard and my recent surgery and follow up with him. He is direct and no non sense about your health and well being. To some its not easy to except, for me it is what I like best. He spoke to me before surgery, we shared a few laughs, he went over the procedure with me in detail and answered my families questions... Only thing we were pretty disappointed in was during my hospital stay, we seemed to always have to go find a nurse and when my fiance was there no body ever came in to check on me unless and went and found someone. That isn't something Dr Broussard can control but was my only complaint.
Although very friendly I did not receive the email with the seminar video and the doctor highly suggested it was something I overlooked vs something his staff did not send me putting the blame on me instead of his staff. I needed to watch the seminar before my consult and I had to reschedule my appointment. At my consult I felt like I was being questioned the honesty of my responses to my previous health and diagnosis. It made me uncomfortable being told I had to have this diagnosis based on my appearance and was told “a big boy like you has to have it” I also was charged for this consult which is the first time I was ever charged for a consultation. I also was advised that the surgeon was out of network with my insurance and since they were out of network I would have to pay their fee upfront before surgery and get a receipt and be reimbursed by my insurance even though I have out of network benefits. I was told they don’t pay much for Out of network which is why they do it this way. Honestly I feel like it’s only about the money vs about changing lives which is what they advertise. I did start the process but honestly looking for someone who is in network and makes me more comfortable. Maybe you will have a better first impression but I certainly did not.
I love Weight Wise. Everyone has been amazing. I have had my questions answered in a timely manner. The support groups are very helpful. Dr Broussard is straight with me about the potential dangers of not following the program. He does not sugar coat anything which is exactly what I need. I would absolutely 100% recommend Weight Wise.
Dr B. Is super kind hearted but also very blunt and up front with you to ensure success and understand reality of surgery and life post op. He’s quick to reply to any concerns you have post op as well. I loved that he was very stern and honest with everything because it didn’t leave me set up for failure. But at the same time he 100% takes the time to listen to any fears or concerns you have and will help bring light to anything you might question instead of beating around the bush like some surgeons do. Weightwise program in general has been a great experience and they truly make you take the steps in preparation before allowing surgery and that’s what sets them apart from everyone else. Their post op program is great too in that you don’t go out after surgery not knowing what to do! The support isn’t just a week after, it’s for a lifetime of success!
Highly recommend Dr. Broussard for Bariatric Surgery in OKC. I was on tract for a gastric sleeve with another surgeon but then ran across Dr. B. and his program... it is phenomenal from Start to Finish… So, So glad that I switched! Fantastic nursing staff and hospital facility. 5 Stars!!!
